TRAVEL. TOGETHER. AGAIN.

Cycling-inspired trips for the Bike & Build community.

Dear alumni –

I founded Bike & Build in 2003 and have remained connected to its community ever since. Over the years, I’ve met thousands of alumni from different routes and generations. We come from different places, backgrounds, and stages of life, but are connected by a unique shared experience that has endured long after our rides ended.

Today, I run Key Travel Advisors, a boutique travel agency that plans experience-driven trips for individuals, families, and groups. Through this work, I help connect people to places, experiences, and one another.

I’m excited to bring these two parts of my life together by developing small-group travel opportunities for the Bike & Build alumni community—giving us new ways to reconnect with old friends, meet fellow alumni, and spend time with people who share a formative experience from our lives.

Some trips could be designed for existing groups of friends who want to travel together; others could be open to alumni from different routes and years. Alumni could bring partners and friends, and future opportunities may include families as well. The trips would be organized by Key Travel Advisors and operated by experienced travel partners, with destinations and styles of travel shaped by the interests of the community.

I’m beginning to work on this idea. If this sounds intriguing, please complete this short interest form to note your interest and preferences. You’ll receive occasional updates as ideas and opportunities develop, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

And if you have questions, ideas, or a group already interested in traveling together, please reach out to me at marc@keytraveladvisors.com or 201-755-2519.

Alumni trips may center on cycling, incorporate a day or two of riding, or leave the bikes behind altogether. When cycling is included, the riding would be supported with professional guides, luggage transfers, route support, and thoughtfully planned meals. No PB&J—unless that’s what you want!

We’re in the early stages of envisioning what these trips may look like. Here are some initial ideas:

  • Fully Supported Bike Tour - Spend your days cycling quiet roads through beautiful countryside, historic towns, and local communities, with guides, luggage transfers, route support, and comfortable hotels waiting along the way. Multiple route options and e-bikes would allow alumni with different riding abilities to travel together. Operators may include VBT, Backroads, or other highly regarded providers.

  • Boat Bike Tours - Imagine spending your days cycling through European villages, countryside, and coastlines, then returning each afternoon to a private boat shared with fellow alumni and friends. With comfortable cabins, shared meals, a sundeck, and e-bikes available, the trip would recapture some of the camaraderie of traveling together in a totally unique way.

  • Villa or Private Home Rental - Leave the bike at home, and find the perfect home or villa rental for a week with old and new friends. We’ll design experiences and an itinerary to strike the balance between seeing local sites, catching up, and unwinding.

These travel opportunities would be independently organized by Key Travel Advisors and operated by professional travel partners. They are not affiliated with or operated by Bike & Build.

BIKE, E-BIKE, OR NO BIKE.

THREE WAYS TO TRAVEL.

Join a small-group program open to all alumni, along with their partners or friends. These trips would offer a chance to explore somewhere new while meeting people connected by a shared experience—even if you have never met before.

Best for: Alumni traveling individually, as a couple, or with a friend.

JOIN AN ALUMNI TRIP

Reconnect with the people you rode with—or the alumni friends you’ve made since. Key Travel Advisors can help your group choose the right destination and experience, then manage the accommodations, transportation, reservations, payments, and other logistics that can make group travel difficult to organize. Groups from 6-40 people.

Best for: Existing trip or friend groups who already want to travel together.

BRING YOUR CREW TOGETHER

Design a private journey around your interests, travel style, and preferred pace—whether cycling is the centerpiece of the experience, one memorable day along the way, or not part of the trip at all.

Best for: Individuals, couples, and families looking for a customized travel experience.

DESIGN YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE

This idea is still taking shape. Joining the interest list doesn’t commit you to a trip — it simply means you’ll receive occasional updates as opportunities develop.
